Tracks and Trails Strategy

The purpose of the Tracks and Trails Strategy 2012 is to guide the planning, development, management and promotion of tracks and trails into the future.  The guiding principles can be summarised as:

These principles contain the strategic level actions that guide the development and implementation of the Tracks and Trails Action Plan.

 

Tracks and Trails Action Plan

The Tracks and Trails Action Plan 2015-2020 aims to provide a framework for developing an integrated network of tracks and trails through bushland and coastal areas with links to urban locations around the municipality. The plan identifies 7 Significant Trails.

The action plan identifies missing links in the proposed network of Significant Trails and proposes a priority list to address the gaps. As part of the plan a Trails Register has also been established to indicate the general location of possible future trail links.

The Tracks and Trails Action Plan has been developed in consultation with the Tracks and Trails committee which includes representatives of walking, horse riding, mountain biking and seniors groups.
