Football

Clarence Football ClubThe first mention of a football club in the Clarence area came in June 1884 with a match between Bellerive and Carlton at Bellerive. Unfortunately Bellerive lost the match, seven goals to nil. Thankfully things have changed since then and the long history of the Clarence District Football Club is documented thoroughly by Dr. Alison Alexander in the book 'You're in Roo Country' - The history of the Clarence District Football Club, 1884 - 1996.

The book not only details Clarence's rise as a powerful team in Tasmanian football but it also details the early years of Tasmanian state-wide football.

Recent Clarence Football Club Premiership victories include;
