Parks and reserves

Clarence has a wide variety of parks and reserves for residents to enjoy, from compact neighbourhood parks to open areas. Most residents have a park or reserve within easy walking distance of their home. A large number of the parks contain play equipment to suit all ages.

A range of facilities can be used in the parks including play structures, seating, kickabout areas, skate parks and barbecues. Use of the barbecues is on a first come first served basis and all barbecues are free of charge. In the interest of hygiene and consideration of others it is requested that barbecues are cleaned after use.

Dogs are allowed in some parks but are not allowed within 10 metres of play equipment and must always be under effective control. Dogs must be on lead when on or within 2 metres of a multi-user path (i.e. bike/walking track).

Bellerive Beach Park has an all abilities playground and there is a disability accessible swing at Simmons Park in Lindisfarne. Both these parks also have gymnasium equipment.

Located at Wentworth Park is a bike education track, a place where young children can ride their bike while learning important road safety principles along the way. The track, which caters for young children aged roughly between 5 to 10 years, features speed humps, give way and stop signs, a roundabout, rail crossing, traffic lights, pedestrian crossing and give way intersections for children to navigate through on their bikes.
