Clarence Open Art Competition

Clarence Open Art Exhibition 2012

150 artists exhibiting a total of 270 pieces were featured in the 2012 Clarence City Council Open Art Exhibition.

The Open Art Exhibition is one of Clarence's most highly attended exhibitions.

The Exhibition is open to all Tasmanian artists and occurs every two years. In the 2012 exhibition both the Schoolhouse and the Barn were full to capacity and the huge variety of art offered something for everyone's taste.

The overall winner of the 2012 Open Art Exhibition prize was David Walker for his photograph Airport.

Seven prizes were awarded to works from areas including painting, printmaking, photography and drawing.

Clarence City Council actively promotes the participation of people in the arts and the Open Art Exhibition provides a valuable opportunity for artists to show their work to the public.
