Road network
The City of Clarence is served by a road transport network comprising primary arterial, secondary arterial, sub-arterial roads and town streets.
The dual carriageway Tasman Highway traverses the city from east to west, and the East Derwent Highway and South Arm Road north to south.
Responsibility for the road and bridge network rests with the State Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources (DIER) in relation to primary and secondary arterial roads and the Clarence City Council (CCC) for sub-arterial and local roads and streets - see road network map.
The Clarence City Council component comprises 345 kms of sealed road and 67 kms of unsealed road, totalling 412 kms.
Information on Council roads, bridges, footpaths, parking and traffic management is available in the Council services section.
