Voluntary Amalgamation & Shared Services Community Consultation

Have your say on the future of Clarence

Clarence City Council recently participated in two feasibility studies on the pros and cons of possible amalgamations and shared services (or not) with six neighbouring councils which were interested in being involved.

The first study looked at Councils in the South East which included Clarence, Sorell, Tasman and Glamorgan Spring Bay.

The second study looked at Greater Hobart which involved Clarence, Hobart, Glenorchy and Kingborough.

The studies identified 10 options. Seven of these options relate directly to Clarence.

We encourage residents and ratepayers to have their say on the feasibility options

Your feedback will help inform Council’s decision on potential amalgamations and shared services.

From late September (approx. 25 September), an information booklet and survey will be sent to all residents and ratepayers.

If you do not receive a survey or need another, please phone Council on 6217 9500 or email Clarence@ccc.tas.gov.au to arrange for one to be sent to you.

Survey Closing Date

The survey closes on Friday 24 November 2017.
