Time is running out to nominate someone inspiring and worthy of attention for the City of Clarence Australia Day Awards.

Nominations close on Friday 27 November 2015 and people are urged to visit the Council’s website or phone Council on 6245 8651 to submit a nomination.

Awards are open in the categories of citizen, senior citizen, young citizen and community event of the year.

“The awards highlight the tremendous work that is being done in the community,” Mayor of Clarence City Council Alderman Doug Chipman said.

“Often this work goes un-noticed by the broader community. If you know of someone who works tirelessly in the community to help others, whether in the fields of sport, recreation, arts, culture, education/learning, volunteer and not-for-profit organisations, I strongly encourage you to nominate.

“Australia Day is a perfect opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions that people make every day to enhance our community.”

To nominate someone for the City of Clarence Australia Day Awards, visit the Council’s website at www.ccc.tas.gov.au/australiadayawards, email ausday@ccc.tas.gov.au or phone 6245 8651.
