Clarence City Council has accepted a tender to install a turning lane at the intersection of Acton Road and Tara Drive. The works will include a dedicated right turn lane and a deceleration lane to Tara Drive.

The scope of the works involves the relocation of TasNetworks’ power poles and overhead line, the removal of some trees within the work zone, an upgrade of the existing culvert and drain, and widening of the road.

The works will include benefits for users of public transport, with wider shoulders to connect with the bus stops and a widening and sealing of the bus stops themselves.

The project is being funded through the Australian Government Black Spot Program.

If residents have any queries regarding the works, they are invited contact Council on 6245 8787. The project is anticipated to be completed by the end of June.
