Clarence Retail Analysis

Council on the 6 September 2010 resolved to implement the recommendations of a Clarence Retail Analysis Study commissioned to examine the future growth requirements of the City.

The study presents recommendations for zoning and development controls for existing and future commercial areas in Clarence, in order to promote appropriate development, to encourage sustainable economic development, and to best serve the needs of the residents of Clarence and beyond.

Council has endorsed the recommendation in the report that the planning scheme be amended to reflect a network of Activity Centres across the city, capturing the additional role of local centres in providing social gathering places, entertainment, community services and transport hubs.

The study recognises the primacy and future growth potential of Rosny Park, and also identifies the need for an activity centre serving the south of the City, considered best located at Lauderdale.
