TERM 1 2013 Workshops

PAINTING FOR ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS

  • Tutor:  Lynne Beck
  • When: Saturday 16 Sunday 17 February 10.00am – 3.00pm
  • Cost:   $50.00 or Non-Members $55.00

This workshop is for anyone who has a desire to try painting, has no experience and needs some basic tips on how to begin.

It will involve using acrylic paints, and new artists will explore setting up, how to mix the colours you require and basic procedures you need to follow to achieve a successful artwork.

Techniques to show form, space and texture will be tackled to add life to the painting. Composition and layout will also be discussed.

This workshop will involve step-by-step demonstrations and application.

Participants will need to bring a canvas board or canvas no larger than 50cm.

Paint and brushes will be provided for a $5.00 levy, especially if participants are uncertain which paints to buy. However, bring paints if you have them. They will be valuable in the discussion of what to choose later. Also bring any brushes you may have at home.
